Oriental Paperbush
Oriental paperbush (Edgeworthia chrysantha) is a well-branched, deciduous shrub that produces spicy-fragrant yellow blooms in late winter. The improved cultivar 'Winter Gold' offers its soft yellow flowers in February and displays bluish-green foliage with silvery undertones in summer. The shrub, which grows to about six feet tall and perhaps a bit wider, prefers humus-rich and well-drained soil, consistent moisture, and light shade.
