How To Make A Bird-Feeding Wreath
Wreaths aren't just for Christmas. As a snowy day project, consider making a bird-seed wreath, similar to the ones available where bird feeding supplies are sold. Growing and Cooking Vegetables
With the burgeoning interest in home gardening and healthy eating, there's been an abundance of books published on the subject. For me, one has stood out for its lyrical writing, personal experiences of what worked and what didn't, and the can't-wait-to-try recipes. Tender: v. 1: A Cook and His Vegetable Patch by Nigel Slater (Fourth Estate Ltd, 2009) profiles several dozen vegetables, presenting growing information and simple but luscious recipes. Slater, who has been called Britain's finest food writer, does not disappoint.
