Clever Gardening Technique
Potato Transplants
The common way to plant potatoes is by planting seed pieces directly out into the garden. When the soil is too moist to work at planting time, or if you just want to get a head start, try starting some potatoes in 4" pots in a greenhouse, or near a sunny window. When roots and shoot emerge, they are ready to go out to the garden, or you can keep them a little longer if nature is not cooperating just yet!
