Composting for Kids
Want to learn the basics of composting? Check out the Composting For Kids Web site I designed to teach kids (of all ages!) how to turn organic wastes into great soil-building compost.

Tool or Gardening Product

Soil Sieve
Soil sieves are a handy tool for screening out larger chunks in a planning mix or in compost. They are handy for creating a fine textured seed starting mix. Most come with several sizes of screens. Sieves are available from garden centers and mail order sources. I have built my own using 1/4-inch hardware cloths attached to 2 X 2 boards.
