Georgia Perennial Plant Association Program
Join The Georgia Perennial Plant Association at their open monthly meeting for the program "Nature Knows What Nature Needs," presented by John Strickland of Going Green Organics. The event is scheduled for August 18 at McElreath Hall of the Atlanta History Center at 7:30 p.m. Social hour, beginning at 6:30, features plants for sale and swap, passalong magazines and catalogs, Q&A with Master Gardeners, and light refreshments. In addition to freezing and canning, food drying is an easy and inexpensive way to keep fruits and vegetables for future use. The University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service offers a 12-page downloadable and printable publication that explains the basics of drying and gives specifics for a variety of foods.
