Gardening with Conifers
After a September 2008 trip to Portland, Oregon, I was determined to learn more about conifers and how to use them in the landscape. Gardening with Conifers, by Adrian Bloom, published by Firefly Books Ltd. in 2002, has become my best resource because it explains how conifers grow and provides excellent information on planting, moving, pruning, propagating, and pests and diseases. A directory of more than 600 "best" conifers and an extensive section on how to use conifers in the garden make this book an invaluable tool. Plus, its photos make me drool.
