Clever Gardening Technique

Share the Produce
Don't let your hard-earned efforts go to waste! Take a cue from Albuquerque gardeners who put their abundant harvests of zucchini, cucumber, and other fruits and vegetables to use by taking good-quality, excess produce to any of their local Rowland Nursery outlets. Produce is accepted Mondays and Thursdays from 9 a.m to 2 p.m., and is distributed through the "Storehouse" to those in need. "Share the Produce" continues through October. Consider starting a similar program in your area, or check with local food banks to see if they will accept perishables.
