The New England Wild Flower Society's Garden in the Woods, in Framingham, Massachusetts, is now open for the season. And to celebrate Earth Day, they offer free admission with special events from noon to 4pm on Saturday, April 25. Owned and operated by the New England Wild Flower Society, the Garden in the Woods is "the largest landscaped collection of wildflowers in the Northeast." The Earth Day Network is a world-wide alliance of organizations working to promote a healthy environment. According to their Web site, they boast a network of more than 17,000 partners and organizations in 174 countries, and more than 1 billion people participate in Earth Day activities, making it the largest secular civic event in the world. The emphasis is on getting involved on an individual, as well as community-wide, basis -- not just learning about the issues, but also doing something about them!
