Master Gardener
It takes time, and it takes training. You'll learn new things, sweat a little or a lot, and give back to your community. This description paints a picture of Master Gardeners, but it leaves out the best part: you will meet amazing people from all walks of life. Consult your local MGs, or the Cooperative Extension Service in your area -- training is starting all over the regions. For example, University of Florida/Wakulla County begins its course on February 18. Find out more about registration and requirements (register through February 16) at http://wakulla.ifas.ufl.edu. Click on the Master Gardener button, and enter the world of giving gardeners.

Angel Trumpet for Containers
At last, a Brugmansia ('Angel's Dream') that is short of stature but long on flowers. Dozens of classic, gold trumpets hang from this plant, which matures at 3 feet wide and 2 feet tall. Right now, this is an exclusive plant of Logee's Greenhouse, and named for the daughter of its owners. It's available now at their website, http://www.logees.com, and soon enough, in many more places.
