Time-Tested Plants: Thirty Years in a Four-Season Garden
In Time-Tested Plants: Thirty Years in a Four-Season Garden (Timber Press, 2000), Pamela J. Harper takes us on a walk through 30 years of gardening in good conditions and bad, season by season. She describes the plants that didn't live up to expectations, as well as those that exceeded all hopes. Each season reveals a different aspect of a plant, from spring blooms and lush summer foliage to the fruits and bark of autumn and winter. All trees, shrubs, and perennials included are hardy at least to USDA zone 7. Each plant has earned the author's trust and affection for a decade or more. It's a fun book, full of timely advice and lots of wonderful plants.
