Favorite or New Plant

Hopflower Oregano
Looking for a drought-tolerant perennial that thrives in August heat? The hopflower oregano (Origanum libanoticum) will meet your needs. Plant this perennial in a border, as a specimen plant, or have it trailing over the edge of a raised bed. The plant is covered with cascading lavender and chartreuse hop-like bracts. It does best in a well-drained soil, either clay loam or sandy loam. It will grow in part shade but prefers full sun.
