Travels of John Bartram Reconsidered
With video clips, photos, journals, and flippable post cards, the Travels of John Bartram Reconsidered is one cool Web site! Last November 15, artist Mark Dion and companion Dana Sherman set off south from Philadelphia's Bartram's Garden to "shadow the travels of fellow artist William Bartram. Bartram was a man of uncommon courage and a talent and intellect of formidable skill, particularly with regard to writing and draftsmanship... I pledge to do my very best to select, collect, preserve and artfully arrange the numerous natural objects and artifacts of material culture I encounter on this journey...." They're still enroute, sharing delightful, funny, colorful tidbits of their adventures at the address above.

Tool or Gardening Product

Vigoro Ergo Hand Trowel
This sturdy trowel wins my vote for its hefty, comfortable, soft gel-grip. Its broad, stainless steel, scoop-shaped blade makes it somewhat of a mini-shovel. Checking for the price online, I found a consumer's video touting the tool, though hers has depth measurements and mine does not. Cost: $5.97
