Blue Oat Grass
Blue oat grass or blue Avena (Helictotrichon sempervirens), with its silvery blue, metallic-looking foliage, is one of my favorite ornamental grasses. The beige oat-like seed heads in late summer make it a great addition to the late summer and autumn garden. This perennial grass combines very nicely with salvias and purple coneflowers.
