Favorite or New Plant

Container Clematis
As if clematis didn't have enough attributes to win our favor, now there's a wide range of petite types suitable for containers. The Evison Patio Clematis varieties -- bred in England -- reach only about 4 feet high. They flower for most of the summer in purples, blues, and pinks. 'Bourbon' has deep reddish purple blooms with a yellow center; 'Versailles' is a gorgeous wine red and tops out at 6 feet; 'Angelique' is pale lilac with a red stripe. And this is only a sampling. They are hardy to zone 4 so after a summer in pots, plant them in the ground or winter them in a shed or garage with some insulation against frigid temps. See photos of the varieties here: http://www.evisonclematis.com.
