Aldo Leopold Foundation
If you warm to Aldo Leopold's A Sand County Almanac and his conservation philosophy and have $750 to donate, consider this latest, custom-milled edition of the book. Leopold pines were thinned to promote the health and longevity of the strongest trees on the Wisconsin farm. The 500 pounds of pine pulp were turned into paper for this unique almanac edition. Proceeds benefit the farm's endowment fund. See the Aldo Leopold Foundation Web site for details about this and other foundation projects, internships, and seminars.

Soji Solar Lantern and Firefly Solar Accent Lights
No matter if I've forgotten to turn on the porch light. Now there's always a glow -- make that two: one white, one yellow -- welcoming me home. Allsop's white Soji Solar Lantern and the golden Calla Firefly capture the sun's rays during the day and share them all night. The Asian style Soji hangs; the handblown glass Firefly is on an adjustable (to 5 feet) pole. These are so gorgeous, sun-powered, AND practical, I plan to order more. Visit the Allsop Web Site (http://www.allsopgarden.com) for more info.
