Your Calendar
Make notes on last summer's garden while your memory is still fresh. Your initial choices, impressions, and results will provide starting points for next year's choices. And choose a calendar for next year that's just for your garden records. Once a week (I find Sunday nights work best, when I'm done with the weekend's worth of tasks), note what you planted, harvested, and other helpful details. As the weeks proceed, you can easily refer back to see what actions might have resulted in success or the need to try another approach.

Clever Gardening Technique

Winter Tool Care
Thoroughly clean, sharpen, and oil tool blades. Take care of any rough spots on wood handles, sanding and rubbing them with linseed oil. Store tools in a protected area, as severe weather and moisture contribute to their premature aging.
