Take Cooking Lessons and Support Atlanta Food Shelf
Learn to cook in a state-of-the-art teaching facility through the Atlanta Community Food Bank's Simple Abundance program, an ongoing series of cooking classes. During the two-hour sessions, some of the finest chefs in Atlanta donate their time and ingredients, preparing several recipes and sharing samples with participants. For a schedule of fall classes, visit the Simple Abundance Web page. Costs for the classes range from $40 to $150. One hundred percent of class tuition benefits Atlanta's Table, a food bank program that collects excess prepared food from restaurants, caterers, and corporate dining facilities and distributes it to hunger relief agencies.

Fast for a World Harvest
Many of us worry about too many calories rather than too few, but for millions of people around the world, each new day is a day of hunger. Each year Oxfam sponsors Fast for a World Harvest Day. On the Thursday before Thanksgiving, skip a meal to remember the more than 850 million people who are hungry. Then contribute the money saved to Oxfam. (Or choose your own day to skip a meal for Oxfam.) For more information, visit: http://www.oxfamamerica.org/fast.
