Fall Plant Sale Festival
The Desert Botanical Garden plant sale gets bigger and better every year. It is "members-only" on Friday and open to the public on Saturday and Sunday. Members line up to grab one-of-a-kind specimans on the first day, so if you're a plant-lover or planning an extensive project in your landscape, it pays to become a member to get a good selection. The garden's horticulturists and volunteers are there to answer questions and offer suggestions. Garden clubs and specialty retailers are also on hand. A list of plants typically available is on their Web site, at www.dbg.org. Free admission. Oct. 7 & 8 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Oct. 9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
