Japanese Festival
It's time for the Missouri Botanical Garden Japanese Festival, and this year for the first time they will have demonstrations of Sumo wrestling, an ancient form of wrestling steeped in Shinto tradition that is rarely seen in live performance outside Japan. Also, enjoy taiko drumming, tea ceremonies, anime screenings, and candlelight tours of the Japanese Garden. The event is Saturday through Monday, September 3-5, at the Missouri Botanical Garden, 4344 Shaw Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63110. For info call the automated events hotline: (314) 577-9400, or (800) 642-8842.
