Gaudy Cannas
Cannas are a dependably hardy perennial with a tropical flair that thrive in the bog environment around a water garden. A bold newcomer is the variety 'Tropicanna' (a.k.a. 'Phasion'). It sports multicolored leaves with downright gaudy splashes of green, orange, coral, and wine hues. Variegated green and cream varieties like 'Bengal Tiger' are also stunning plants. Cannas can take full sun but often look their best in a location with just morning sun or semi shade.
