Sheep to Shawl Festival
This event sounds like more fun than any I've read about lately. On April 2 the Fiber Guild of the Savannahs will demonstrate how wool is processed and magically turned into a shawl or shoulder wrap. Guild members will shear the two Oatland sheep, and this year an Alpaca too! Visitors can try their hand at carding, spinning, and weaving. The master gardeners also will be giving gardening talks and selling plants. The event will be held at 711 Sandtown Road in Savannah. Call (912) 898-3980 for more information.
