Bouquets to Art
San Francisco is a city that loves culture and art, and Bouquets to Art is the main fund-raising event of the year for the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. If you have never been, make this the year to attend the event, March 8-11. Floral artists from around the bay area go way over the top to interpret great works of art in a palette of flowers. Color, shape, and design between the art and the flowers are matched in unique and amazing ways. The flowers bring the museum to life, and thousands of people look forward to this annual extravaganza.

In addition to the incredible floral displays, there are lectures, classes, teas, and luncheons. Reservations required for all programs and Art & Flowers luncheons. Reservation deadline is March 2. The event will be held at the Legion of Honor, 100 34th Ave., San Francisco, CA. For info, call (415) 750-3504; e-mail: sfauxiliary@famsf.org; or visit: http://www.bouquetstoart.org.

Fiskars Pruning Stik Pole Pruner
If you ever have need of a pole pruner, the Fiskars Pruning Stik Pole Pruner is fabulous! Instead of a rope to pull the blade shut, it uses a strong spring on a trigger mechanism at the base of the pole. It is also telescoping, so you can reach the highest branches. It's lightweight (a real benefit if you have ever done extensive overhead pruning) and can cut branches up to 1-1/2 inches in diameter! This is a quality tool, a little expensive but worth the cost.
