Freeze Protection
This Freeze Protection video clip from Texas Cooperative Extension is part of a series I do for television stations. In this clip I provide a few tips on protecting plants when a particularly cold night threatens.

Favorite or New Plant

Yaupon Holly
This plant is familiar to most southern gardeners, yet it offers some wonderful variations that deserve a place in our landscapes. Standard yaupon types grow quite large but can be pruned or sheared to form a dense hedge, an attractive topiary, or a miniature tree. Female plants produce attractive red berries. Dwarf varieties don't produce berries but do make nice dense, low-growing shrubs. 'Will Fleming' takes on a very narrow, vertical upright form, while 'Pendula' adds a unique weeping form to the landscape.
