Books

The Potato Garden
Sure, there are other books on potatoes but none so lovingly written or as humorous as The Potato Garden, A Grower's Guide, by Maggie Oster (Harmony Books, 1993). Although out-of-print, it's readily available from online used booksellers at an astonishingly low price for a book that was a finalist for a James Beard award. Besides descriptions of over 200 varieties of potatoes, there is potato history, trivia, and detailed growing instructions, including alternative planting methods plus recipes.
