Southern Fruit Fellowship
The University of Arkansas has a fantastic fruit-breeding program, and their newest creation, fall-bearing blackberries, will soon be ready for release. Meanwhile, you can taste many of the summer-bearing fruits in experimental plots from June 17 to 19, when the Clarksville, Arkansas Experiment Station hosts the Southern Fruit Fellowship's annual meeting (nafex.org/sff2004.htm). Registration is $26, which includes the banquet on Friday, June 18.

The Whole Herb
Herbs have so many uses that I think of them as Nature's treasure plants. In my new book, The Whole Herb (Square One Publishers, 2004; $14.95), I've simplified growing herbs and covered the many ways you can use them in your kitchen, craft room, or medicine chest. Don't miss out on the fun you can have working with these incredible plants.
