"Deck the Halls with Hippeastrum: An Amaryllis Extravaganza" is a current display at the National Arboretum in Washington, D.C., through February 1, 2004 (closed Christmas Day). Enjoy 50 cultivars and species of Hippeastrum (a.k.a. amaryllis) in bloom, with the flower display changing as the different varieties come in and out of bloom. The Web site announcement (http://www.usna.usda.gov/index.html) also includes a link to instructions on caring for an amaryllis bulb at home so it will bloom for you year after year.
