Georgia Trial Triumphs
As you consider flowers for this year's garden, visit the University of Georgia Trial Gardens Web site for a list of the best performers from last season's trial gardens. Expect to see new plants, such as annual Acalypha. One of the great things about Georgia's "Classic City" awards program is that new plants get publicized in time for wholesale growers to make them available for the spring planting season.

No Cocoa for Canines
Does your dog, like mine, have indiscriminate eating habits? If so, the ASPCA's Animal Poison Control Center says not to use cocoa bean mulch in your garden.
