Earth Day Network
The Earth Day Network is an alliance of 5000 different organizations in 184 countries, all working to promote a healthy environment. In addition to being a clearinghouse for information, including links to member organizations, the alliance also sponsors a number of programs. These include evaluating your "Ecological Footprint," "Put Down Roots -- Plant a Tree," and a car-free day. The emphasis is on getting involved on an individual, as well as community-wide, basis -- not just learning about the issues, but also doing something about them!
