'All Summer Beauty' is a mophead flowered big leaf hydrangea. It does not seem to be patented and is listed in some catalogs as a "new breed" of hydrangea. Basically, that means that it blooms on new and old wood (remontant or re-blooming). However, in colder winter climates (like Michigan), big leaf hydrangeas usually die back to the ground (or suffer from late frosts), so you only get blooms on new wood. But, at least you get blooms. This "new breed" cultivar seems to have been in the literature for at least 20 years and its origin is unknown (to me). Also, since it is not patented, propagation is an option.
