D. Photosynthesis

We all, plants included, need food to survive. Photosynthesis is the way plants make their own food. In order to photosynthesize, plants need light. The primary purpose of leaves is to capture this required light. Since leaves are so intimately involved in the process, we'll begin by taking a closer look at their structure and function before we delve into the details of photosynthesis.
