I have know Ramona since 2000 when she took a newbie lily lover under her wing and traded bulbs with me. She knew her stuff and shared her love of the lilies, their care, what would work and what wouldn't in my climate. Faraway Flowers now operates from Facebook, she announces when lilies and other bulbs, daylilies and daylily seeds are available. She keeps you informed on the arrival and shipment and sometimes bulbs aren't up to her standards, so a refund will be forthcoming. The website listed above is null and void so I will contact her about an update. You can't go wrong with Faraway Flowers!
Visited this nursery on 10/31/2016. What a delight to go in all the hoop houses and look at the hardy cyclamen. It is run by Judy Zugish and Bill Roeder. The main plants they grow are hardy Cyclamen and Epimedium. However, they have other woodland perennials as well. They also run Fishsticks Basketry School on this site. They harvest all materials used in the basket creations from the property.
Redenta's is one of my favorite garden shops. They have 2 locations: one in Dallas, TX and one down the road a bit in Arlington, TX. The Dallas store is the one I shop at. They have a large selection of native and adapted plants, often some that are hard to find. Perennials, herbs, cacti, shrubs, and trees plus a full line of organic products. They also have some really special garden art and gift type items. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and fun. Fun? Yep. They have a 'Potting Bar' where they hold classes and even Happy Hours. I would be remiss if I didn't mention that Redenta's has the most precious store cat ever - - Fig. New addition is Bay, a companion for Fig.
