ATP Podcast #101: Talking Tomatoes, Part 1

It's that time of year again when our thoughts turn to vegetables gardening, and the first thing we think about in that category of gardening is tomatoes. In this episode, we discuss selecting tomato varieties, site prep, hardening off transplants, and much more.

What Is Hugelkultur?

Hugelkultur is an ancient method of raised-bed gardening, one that utilizes fallen wood. It has been used in Europe for centuries. In German it translates to "mound culture." Building one of these mounds takes a bit of work, but it will last for a long time, and it will be a self-watering, self-feeding, and self-composting raised bed! I have built mine in the vegetable garden, but you could have one serving as a perennial flower bed. (235 words - Read the full article)

Some new reviews from the ATP Green Pages:

Kabby recommended Rolling River Nursery and wrote:

I have the great fortune to have just bought several fruit trees from this nursery. Shipped from CA and arrived very promptly. Nice size plants, most 3 ft tall or taller. They have not missed a lick having just traveled across the country. I found the descriptions on the website very informative, whether a certain tree needed a pollinator or not. I would definitely buy from this nursery again if I need fruit trees.

We keep growing, because ATP is where all the excitement is these days! Check out these numbers from last week:
