This is a family favorite. We always keep the freezer stocked with shrimp so that in a pinch, when time is at a premium, or those unexpected guests pop in, we can have a flavorful dinner or appetizer in no time at all.
Servings: 2 dinners or 4 to 6 appetizers
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 16-oz package easy-peel shrimp (shell on), uncooked, cleaned, and thawed
2 teaspoons Old Bay seasoning
Juice from 1/2 lemon or lime or both
Cocktail sauce, purchased or make your own:
1 cup ketchup
2 to 3 teaspoons horseradish (or to taste)
1 teaspoon Worchester sauce
Juice from fresh lemon or lime (about 2 teaspoons)
In a large skillet, heat oil and garlic on medium-high heat until fragrant. Add shrimp and sauté until shrimp turn pink. Sprinkle Old Bay seasoning over shrimp and mix thoroughly. Squeeze juice from fresh lemon or lime over shrimp and mix well. Remove from heat and place on serving platter. Drizzle additional lemon/lime juice if desired. Serve with cocktail sauce.
