would be to propogate native live oak
trees from the acorns produced from the
trees. In what manner do the acorns need
to be prepared (ie. dried, overwintered,
shelled, etc), and what is the proper
procedure for germinating (tempurature,
humidity, and germination period). What
is the proper way of planting a
germinated acorn kernel?

What I did
Mark,
Posted by Billy from Texas/9 on 2001-03-20 15:42:47
I live in Crosby, TX which is 30 miles
east of houston and gathered 6 live oak
acorns from the mall parking lot
in my area and direct planted them in
stirofoam cups and potting soil Dec 16
2000 and kept the soil damp and as of
last week March 8 2001 all 6 acorns have
sprouted. There is really nothing
special to do except picking good
acorns. I didn't float em' I just made
sure that they did not have any cracks
or holes.-
