silver queen corn

I have planted 30 ears of silver queen corn, the plants are doing great. My question is, On each ear of corn their are 2 to 4 side shouts growing. Should I cut the side shouts off? or let them grow with the rest of the plant? Will I have an ear of corn on each side shout?
