Is there any way to sweeten oranges?

I am new to this site and apologize if this question has been asked and answered. I live in a sub-division that was an orange grove and have large orange trees. Over the last few years the oranges have less taste dispite fertilizing with citrus fertilizer products as recommended. Is there any way to make oranges on an existing tree sweeter? If so, is it too late for this years oranges as some green ones are already on the tree?
