Yoshino cherry tree

Planted Yoshino cherry tree last spring. It was leafed out at the time. Gave it fertilizer in summer and tree grew and looked great. did some selective pruning in winter and tree put on bloom buds for spring. Very small blooms in clusters now have turned brown and no leaves. Leaf buds seem to have green in them but still no leaves. The tree across the street has leafed out. Have not fertilized, overwatered, etc. Have let nature take its course.

Help! am ready to dig tree and replace.
