apple tree

We planted a semi-dwarf apple tree last year, which did fine last year. This year the top of the tree appears dead, but the lower part of the tree (above the graft) is alive. Is this tree worth saving?

    Regarding your apple tree. If the top of the tree is dead, look to the roots for the answer. Are they to wet, dry, girdled? Are the roots spread out and growing and not covered with a heaping pile of mulch? Look to the roots for you answer. Good Luck
