My Garden Puddles - help

My Garden Puddles - help
Posted by jbf from Delaware on 2002-05-19 23:16:09

I tilled and tilled, added "real" soil (a compost, etc. mix from the garden store) tilled some more, etc. And then it rained, and rained and the next morning some areas of my garden had puddles. How do I remedy to ensure my seeds sprout and prevent my plants from drowning?

    What was your original soil?
How much of this "real" soil did you add and how deep was it tilled in?

    JBF,

Can totally relate, it has been raining on and off here in Zone 7. Maybe you could get some straw or some type of beneficial mulch that could help absorb some of the liquid. That might also help your soil stay a little more stable and not wash away.
