Herbs and Sun
Posted by Jeff from California Coas on 2002-05-18 12:23:37

Hi,
How much sun is too much for a herb garden? Do the little guys prefer morning sun, afternoon, through the day?
Thanks

While most will take "full sun" that depends also on where you are since "full sun" is usually what is around the zone 5/6 border. If your summer, or growing season, temperature are often over 80 degrees full sun may be too much while for those of us that seldom see days like that can put stuff that is listed for full shade out in a lot of sun with out a problem.

    Jeff,

It depends on what plants you have in your herb garden. Some like full sun and some like sun to partial shade. What do you have planted? Post what you've planted and I'll check back to see if I have the same stuff. Once I know what you have I can better tell you what areas the different herbs like. Mine have been really thriving. Hope yours are too.
