Forsythia bush, when do I trim?
Posted by Mike from Ohio on 2001-04-11 13:22:01

When is the best time to trim a Forsythis bush, is it right after it flowers or later in the summer or early fall?

As Jerry stated right after it finishes blossoming. Remove the oldest wood, all the way the the crown, first and then up to a total of 1/3 of the shrub. Oldest wood will be the darkest colored stuff with newer growth a light tan or even green.
