Protecting a Water Garden

I live in Florida, hurricane country, and I would like to build a water garden but would need to protect it during hurricane season. Should I cover it with something or would that hurt the plant life and fish?

    That would depend on how long you would need to cover it. Maybe an overflow system would work for you.

    There is a WONDERFUL site called The Garden Web. They have forums on just about anything you can think of. There are some very knowledgable people there that could probably give you the answer and how to do it as well.

    While you're there, look at 'Ponds & Aquatic Plants' and if you look to the list on the left you'll see 'Regions'. If you click on that, you'll find 'Florida Gardening'.
