Low growing grass

Low growing grass

I'm building a stone walkway and want a low growing, mossy type grass or vegetation to grow between the stones instead of mortar. Does anyone know of such a seed that would grow in an area that only gets about 3 hours of direct sunlight per day? The location is western Kentucky.

    Dwarf mondo grass comes to mind, but it may be too tall for you. It grows about 3" tall. There are also mosses that might work for you as well. Here is a link that will give you lots of ideas. Neither one would need to be mowed. Any turf type grass would need to be mowed.
