Ants In Houseplants-No Poisons Though

Help...ants are living quite merry little lives in my houseplants...I can't use poisons. Any suggestions? I tried water but I think I am not being aggressive enough for them...they run around for a time and then scoot back in.

    Try submerging the pot up to its rim in a tub or sink filled with water. Leave it there for about 20 minutes, long enough for all the ants to abandon ship and drown!
