hard tap water

hello all,
I was using bottled water all summer and my plants grew better than ever. then i got lazy, i started giving them tap. they went on strike! some of them were a sickining yellow in protest. then yesterday i found hugh mineral and salt deposits on the soil on the back side of my birds nest fern and i repotted it. i am now a faithful user of bottled water for ever. if you have good tap concider yourself lucky. my tap water is deadly! jamie.
