walnut trees being poisons to plants
I have a large walnut tree on my property and have been told that I won't be able to plant other plants around it. Does anybody know if this is true? Thanks for the help.

-Walnut trees contain a growth inhibitor called, juglone. Many plants are very sensitive to it but there are some plants less affected. Some are: hosta, clematis, daphne, astilbe, begonia. If you go into the Q&A library, enter walnut trees, there is more info.
