Composting materials
I am planning to build a compost. I have 2 dogs and honestly I had planned to put their "lawn gifts" in the compost. Now that I've started researching how to build the compost, I am being advised not to add pet feces. Is this correct? If not in the compost, is there another beneficial place for the pet feces?

It is not a good idea to put pet feces in your compost since they live so close to us and carry many parasites and pathogens that could have adverse health affects on us. What to do with this "Stuff" is a problem and most of us with pets usually have a deep hole off on an unused corner to deposit it. I've not seen any real benefit to the soil from this "Stuff".
Now I've ben trying for 10 years to teach our current "Dawg" to clean up after himself, but he looks at me like a typical teenager whenever asked to do something. Any ideas?
