-one of our children is severely reactive to oak trees..especially in the end of spring thru the summer. can anyone tell me where in the summer months he would be least affected? answer all parts of the country you think would be acceptable please.thanks so much
Oaks produce large amounts of pollen in the spring. Unfortunately there are many varieties of oaks and they are pretty tolerant of a variety of soils and climates. To avoid the allergies by avoiding the oaks, you have to move to either Hardiness Zones 1 or 10--the two extremes in the country: Tropical heats hotter than Fla., or Alaskan type deep freeze temps. Sorry, but you will probably need to solve the allergy problems by another method than avoiding oak trees. Perhaps a good allergist can help. Good luck.
