name for new plants?
Posted by Kathy from GA/7 on 2001-04-01 18:07:56

I bought several new additions the other day and two of them did not have name cards on them. One of them has large heart shaped ruffled leaves with maroon centers and green edges. The other has heart/spade shaped green leaves on skinny stems. I noticed on another pot at the store that this plant has spores so that lead me to think it was a variety of fern. I have tried looking in the books I have but I can't find anything on it. The first one was similar to a Rex begonia but I'm not sure...help?

Kathy: I think your first plant does sound like a rex begonia....www.logees.com has great picture of lots of rex begonias....I think your other plant sounds like a heart fern....click on the link for a picture of it. Hope this helps!
