Nicking Cathedral bells

I want to grow Cobaea scandens (Cup-and-Saucer Vine, Cathedral Bells) from seed. Most directions I've seen say to nick the seed as you would with seed that have hard seed coats. But these Cobaea seeds are winged and fleshy. I don't know what part of the seed to nick for quickest germination without damaging the seed. Any suggestions?
